Biofilms and contamination

Industrial water systems are a breeding ground for microbiological contamination and the formation of biofilms. This results in unpleasant smells, performance losses in production and endangers the health of employees.

Biofilms, which can develop within hours even under adverse conditions,

  • cause films on filters, prolong production downtime and increase maintenance costs
  • block nozzels in moisturisation systems and jeopardize production reliability
  • reduce the performance of cooling systems and cause higher energy usage

The contamination of water with bacteria and moulds:

  • in wash water: contaminates surfaces and results in mould on products and packaging
  • in water storage tanks: leads to off odours
  • in air cleaners and humidifiers: threatens the health of all staff (especially pathogens)
  • results in higher costs due to the need to exchange water more frequently

Hygiene with WESSOCLEAN® K50

The ecological hygiene agent WESSOCLEAN® K50 reduces germ counts in the water and removes biofilms quickly and effectively. A continously superior level of hygiene is ensured in all water systems. The formation of new biofilm is prevented. Thereby, WESSOCLEAN® K50 protects the performance and reliability of production plants and the quality of products. WESSOCLEAN® K50 can be used for one time regeneration treatments as well as for ongoing system maintenance.

Ecological safety

WESSOCLEAN® K50 consists of organic acids which are common food additives. WESSOCLEAN® K50 is environmentally safe for users and easy to handle. It can be applied with standard dosing pumps. A combination with existing or additional filters (such as microfiltration) is possible.
